FSCS is committed to ensuring that our website is easy to use for everyone. That’s why we’re working towards making our web content accessible in line with the standards set out by the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative.  

We’re also committed to using clear and simple language. The Plain English Campaign has accredited our website with its Crystal Mark.

Wherever possible, we have added ‘alt tags’ to non-textual content, such as images. This means if an image isn’t displaying correctly, the alt text will describe what the image is. Alt tags can also be read by a screen reader. You can use this website with common screen readers, which we’ve tested with Microsoft Windows’ NonVisual Desktop Access and Safari’s VoiceOver screen readers.  

This site often uses PDF files. To view PDF documents, you can use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

We use only standards-compliant XHTML and CSS code, which is supported across a wide range of web browsers and platforms.

Who enforces our accessibility standards?

We’re committed to meeting the Accessibility Regulations (2018) set out by The Equality and Human Rights Commission. It oversees accessibility standards for Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2).

How we tested this website 

The website is automatically tested against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (version 2.1) standards every time we release new updates. We do this at least once a month, using a tool called axe.
