FSCS protected badge usage
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) works closely with the industry to promote awareness of the protection it provides. This is part of building and maintaining consumer awareness.
FSCS, the Building Societies Association and UK Finance have forged a comprehensive agreement about how their members will use the FSCS badge across a range of channels, including digital channels, advertising and disclosure.
This agreement builds on the disclosure requirements set by the Prudential Regulation Authority that require all authorised banks, building societies and credit unions to inform new and existing customers that FSCS protects their deposits.
Deposit takers must prominently feature FSCS disclosure materials (stickers, posters and leaflets) in-branch. The new agreement means they can now feature the FSCS protect badge on websites, mobile apps, FSCS customer information sheets and in advertising campaigns. We provide links to all the materials firms must use below.
The PRA has also confirmed firms can now include the badge in their annual disclosure statements.
For full instructions on how to use the FSCS protected badge and disclosure materials please download the FSCS protected badge guidance for deposit takers. This provides detailed information on all aspects of using the badge and disclosure materials, including the placement of posters and stickers in branch.
The FSCS protected badge was developed for industry to use to inform customers that their deposit products are protected by FSCS.
FSCS produces the designs that firms must use when complying with the regulatory requirements. We provide the full suite of the required in branch materials for firms below. These include instructions and all the printer-ready artwork for each.
We recommend firms work with professional designers and printers to produce these materials correctly. The designer will insert the name of your firm, along with the names of any brands you share a licence with (if applicable), into the stickers and posters. We provide clear instructions for your designer and printer with each file you download.
To download the files your designer and printer require, please make your selection using the links below.
