Yorkshire Building Society Customers
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) protects consumers should anything happen to their bank, building society or credit union. It’s likely you will have seen our posters in your local branch or information on your bank or building society website and app.
Yorkshire Building Society accounts are protected by FSCS up to the sum of £85,000*. Find out more from your building society in branch or on the Yorkshire Building Society website.
FSCS protection covers firms authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority. A list of the banks and building societies authorised by the PRA can be found on the PRA's website.
FSCS protects the following Yorkshire Building Society accounts
- Yorkshire Building Society Current Accounts
- Yorkshire Building Society Savings Accounts
- Yorkshire Building Society Cash ISA Accounts
Individuals are protected up to £85,000* and £170,000* for joint accounts. For a full list of FSCS protected Yorkshire Building Society deposit accounts, visit the Yorkshire Building Society website.
Understanding shared banking authorisation
Some banks and building societies operate a number of brand names under one banking licence. This means that you might only be protected up to £85,000* for the total amount of money you have across the brands covered. See below for more information.
